Thanks for the clarification. I'm still a bit confused though. On the RH 9 CDs, the pxeboot dir contains initrd.img and vmlinuz. The initrd.img has all the modules I require. If I 'dd' only the initrd.img to my USB flash drive, the computer won't boot off it - the computer boots up as normal. What else do I need to 'dd' to the flash drive? Where do my syslinux.cfg and boot.msg files go when utilizing the pxe boot image? |---------+---------------------------------> | | Jason Kohles | | | <email@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx| | | > | | | Sent by: | | | kickstart-list-bounces| | | @redhat.com | | | No Phone Info | | | Available | | | | | | 04/28/2004 03:44 PM | | | Please respond to | | | Discussion list about | | | Kickstart | | | | |---------+---------------------------------> >------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | | | To: Discussion list about Kickstart <kickstart-list@xxxxxxxxxx> | | cc: | | Subject: Re: Kickstart using USB Flash Drive | >------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| On Wed, Apr 28, 2004 at 03:40:02PM -0500, Rebecca.R.Hepper@xxxxxxxxxxx wrote: > > I did look into doing PXE installs quite some time ago but it wasn't a > viable option for my situation.
