The issue I had 2 years back with this scsi controller related to the intel motherboard the controller was integrated in. I finally was able to locate the document that helped me solve the issue. http://people.redhat.com/dledford/440gx/ If you happen to not use this type of mobo unfortunately I don't know what the issue could be.
