Re: Problem with Text Mode KS Installation

This is a small portion of it...

--- Begin ---
install
text
cdrom
autostep
lang en_US
langsupport --default en_US.UTF-8 en_US.UTF-8
keyboard us
#mouse generic3ps/2 --device psaux
skipx
--- End ---

The original installation was performed on a machine that had a mouse attached. The main question is:

Why is it waiting for user input on every screen??? I stopped the process just before it re-partitions the HD and I had to press <ENTER>, to continue, on every screen.

The problem is that the servers where the installation will be performed
DO NOT have (and WILL NOT have) a mouse and for some reason KS has a
problem with that. As soon as the installation begins I get a message
saying that a mouse was not found and therefore the Graphical
installation will continue in text mode. At this point the installation
stops at every screen and waits for my input. I didn't go very far, so
I do not recall if it defaults to my selections for every screen.

Any ideas? TIA!

What does you ks.cfg look like? Do you have a line similar to this to tell it you
have no mouse. Otherwise it will attempt to detect the mouse.

mouse none
