Looks like there are conflicting glibc packages. I'm not sure where
you're getting glibc-2.3.3 from, as "glibc-2.3.2-4.80.6.src.rpm" is the
latest source version for RH8.

I do the same procedure for RH7.3 and 9 on a weekly basis (as it seems
the errata arrive these days), but without the "--hdlist=base/hdlist
--withnumbers" args that you mention.

Are you sure your RedHat/RPMS directory doesn't have excess glibc
packages? You should have

glibc-2.3.2-4.80.6.i386.rpm
glibc-common-2.3.2-4.80.6.i386.rpm
glibc-debug-2.3.2-4.80.6.i386.rpm
glibc-debug-static-2.3.2-4.80.6.i386.rpm
glibc-devel-2.3.2-4.80.6.i386.rpm
glibc-profile-2.3.2-4.80.6.i386.rpm
glibc-utils-2.3.2-4.80.6.i386.rpm
glibc-2.3.2-4.80.6.i686.rpm
glibc-debug-2.3.2-4.80.6.i686.rpm
nscd-2.3.2-4.80.6.i386.rpm

(and no others) for current RH80 errata, if I'm right.

Cheers,
Phil
