When I install Redhat 8 or 9 without using a kickstart configuration file the only time the SMP kernel option is configured in Grub is if I really do have two or more processors. Only when kickstart is used to perform an install do I get the SMP kernel every time. Does not matter what workstation or motherboard I am using. -----Original Message----- From: Johnston, Christopher (IDS DM&DS) [mailto:cjohnston@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, April 22, 2003 1:42 PM To: 'kickstart-list@xxxxxxxxxx' Subject: RE: SMP Kernel even when I don't have a duel processor You are most likely installing the SMP kernel.. which I believe it is compiled like that by default in 8.0 and 9.0 out of the box.. I could be incorrect with that assumption though..
