RE: IPChains / IPTables installed without being in Package list in ks .cfg

I've noticed several packages get installed without being explicitly
referenced in packages, these include anacron, apmd, irda-utils, lilo,
ypbind, yp-tools, isdn4k-utils, kernel-pcmcia-cs, krbafs, pam_krb5. I'm
not sure what causes this behavior, but I've just been removing the
packages with rpm -e in %post. I think you can also explicitly state
that you do not want a package installed by prefixing the package name
with - in %packages. I have not tried this yet...

Subject: IPChains / IPTables installed without being in Package list in
ks .cfg

Does anyone know how ipchains and iptables are getting installed if I
don't reference them explicitly in my %packages list in the ks.cfg.

I build a custom ks.cfg for each install and explicitly reference all
packages that I want installed - I don't use package groupings and yet -
ipchains and iptables get installed.

Is Advanced Server built to automatically install these? Is there some
other controlling mechanism that determines packages that get installed?

TIA,
Mike
