I agree it should be changed to be easier for people to read. I suggest a black background on the Navigation bar with a cyan background on the active link representing the fedora logo and black text on the active link.

With some basic chrome DEV tools "style" and "element" modifications on only my pageview (Until page refresh!) I was able to develop an idea of how my suggestions will look. Please keep in mind I couldn't get the black text on the active link within the timeframe I had and didn't want to bother saving the page locally.
