Re: Effects in Cheese on F15

Hmm - I thought it was just me at first. I tried on the following platforms:

- Dell Optiplex 755 with USB webcam (F15, x86-64)
- Dell Latitude E6410 with built-in webcam (F15, x86-64)
- Asus Eeepc 1000HE with built-in webcam (F15, i386)

All exhibited the same problem - when selecting an effect, cheese crashes.

So I though I'd report my issue via ABRT (see bugzilla link below) - turns out I was the 17th person to report the same issue (that was back on 24th June - about 1 month after release). Now, a total of 38 reports have been filed (one wonders how many are suffering this issue who haven't configured ABRT to file to RH Bugzilla). The latest was yesterday. In my estimation, that is badly broken.

The greatest pity is that I persuaded my son to have F15 on his Eeepc as a replacement for Windows. The selling point was that Cheese was just like Photobooth on the Mac.

Still, if it works for you...

Hi,

I suggest you remove the 'Have a Photobooth Party' feature on the Fedora Project homepage, since it is clear that effects in Cheese are badly broken in Fedora 15.
