When I looked now following your response they are both relative links and as you have said /lib64->/usr/lib64 and /lib->/usr/ lib. Hence from my perspective things have changed in the last couple of days (at the moment I'm running "sudo dnf upgrade" every day).

I'm sure it wasn't pointing at itself, but even if it was an "absolute" link, /lib64 points to /usr/lib64, so it's still the same thing.

There is no /lib64 directory.
