Mine is a DCP-L2630DW, so should be essentially the same.
From the CUPS web interface (localhost:631):
Driver: DCP-L2640DW - IPP Everywhere (grayscale, 2-sided printing)
Connection: ipps://Brother2640.local:443/ipp/print
I have:
Brother DCP-L2530DW series, driverless, 2.0.0 (grayscale, 2-sided printing)
dnssd://Brother%20DCP-L2530DW%20series._ipp._tcp.local/?uuid=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Maybe try the "driverless" option.
The printer has worked with no issues until the latest update.
Also tried reinstalling latest cups packages. Problem returned so I
downgraded them again to the previous version once again. Works fine on
the older version, not on the newest.
CUPS version is:
cups-2.4.11-8.fc41.x86_64
poc
Interesting. Using the CUPS web interface, I see the following choices
when modifying the printer:
Discovered Network Printers:
Brother DCP-L2640DW (Brother DCP-L2640DW)
Brother DCP-L2640DW (driverless) (Brother DCP-L2640DW)
The second one is the one I've had all along and now does not work.
Note it includes the word "driverless". The first one is the one you've
suggested. So, I tried that and it works. Now it says:
Driver: DCP-L2640DW - IPP Everywhere (grayscale, 2-sided printing)
Connection: dnssd://Brother%20DCP-L2640DW._ipp._tcp.local/?uuid=xxxxxxx
The word driverless does not appear in the description.
Since it works, I'll use that. Thanks for the help!
