It's a security thing.  As long as it doesn't interfere with my use, I just
leave it at the default enabled.

If you don't have any concerns about the physical security of your computer and you're only running Fedora, then very little.

However if a bad actor gets your laptop they may well be able to get your credentials out of the memory image saved when you hibernate.
