I got the output below when I ran sudo dnf upgrade about half an hour ago. Looking at /usr/lib the issue is the .build_id folder doesn't exist hence the message is reasonable. The issue I have with this is, is that folder supposed to be only temporary during the install/build process and if so why bother producing the not found message when it is expected to not be there anyway, or is it expected to be there and the fact that it isn't is an indication that the packages may not have been installed properly in the first place? Or is this an indication that something else has come along and deleted the .build_id folder when it shouldn't have?

Sorry, I forgot to paste the messages.

Let me google that for you: <https://unix.stackexchange.com/q/411727>.

Clean up your old symlinks.

Sorry, when I looked for the folder name I misread it and used an underscore instead of a dash. The .build-id folder does exist and has a mountain of sub_folders but none of them are named for the hash shown in the messages, every sub_folder is only a two character name. Has the removal script got the name wrong?

regards,
Steve
