I installed fedora 41 workstation on a spare partition on
my system, when I try to boot I get a neverending series of
messages about the TrippLite UPS connecting then disconnecting.

I fixed this by unplugging the USB cable on the UPS, I'll try
plugging it back in once I get all the software installed
and configured the way I like it, but I just thought I'd ask
if anyone else has seen something like this?

Over and over and over with the device number incrementing on each cycle.

I've seen this before, but it was with a Pixel 5a running Android.

I did not find a solution. I seem to recall filing a bug report, but I
don't know what came of it.

My bad, it was a GoPro HERO 7; not a Pixel phone. And it had the same
problem: "device: NNN was not an MTP device." The number NNN wraps at
128.

That's not necessarily a problem. That's just a message and the device should not disconnect. But in case this is the issue or to get rid of the message, copy /usr/lib/udev/rules.d/69-libmtp.rules to /etc/udev/rules.d/. Then edit the file and either comment out the usb line near the top to disable any probing or else add another line with the Tripplite vendor id to the "sensitive" list.
