Some do. For example, Intel Optane memory is a storage accelerator. It
was a stock component of my Dell XPS 8930. And I understand Apple is
shipping storage devices that optimize file access using a combination
of RAM+Disk in one solid state drive package. (I can't find the name
Apple uses for its drives).
