Example with systemd-run: sudo systemd-run -u distro-sync --no-block --service-type=oneshot \ dnf -y distro-sync Wait for this transient distro-sync unit to finish: systemctl -n 0 status distro-sync systemctl list-jobs sudo journalctl -u distro-sync -f Then reboot.
