I tried
   # grub2-mkconfig
then
   # grub2-install

Made no difference.

When you ran sudo grub2-mkconfig did you get output similar to the following:?
sudo grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg

I did get the issue fixed.  I had to reinstall kernel-core.
