Bonjour,
Yesterday I updated my fc40 installation. I have an nvidia GPU with
nvidia driver from rpm-fusion.
I think that the akmod compilation of the driver went wrong and I
could not boot until the graphical login screen: the screen remains
black and nothing was possible to be done, even accessing to consol
via ctrl-alt-F2-to-12.
So I booted in rescue mode and erased all nvidia stuff (except
firmware) and modified the kernel line in grub (suppressing "blacklist
nouveau") and rebooted.
Now, I can boot but not to graphical mode: at the end, I have to
switch to consol (Ctrl-Alt F2), login and startx.
The 6.10.x kernels are not yet supported for nvidia. I keep three to
four kernels on the system to be able to drop back to a working system.
You are apparently now using the nouveau driver perhaps it is now
agreeing with the display manager you are using.
systemctl status display-manager
will tell you what you have and if it is operating
