Also see <https://support.apple.com/guide/disk-utility/file-system-formats-dsku19ed921c/mac>. But be careful of character sets used for filenames. Apple uses UTF-8-Mac charset for filenames, and the gunlib folks don't approve of Apple's modifications. So there's a potential for filename problems.
