Recently upgraded my laptop and desktop systems to F40. Noticed that each has multiple, slightly different versions of Java and JavaScript. Just wondering if multiple versions is typical/necessary? Desktop: java-17-openjdk-headless java-21-openjdk-headless javascriptcoregtk4.0 javascriptcoregtk4.1 javascriptcoregtk6.0 Laptop: java-1.8.0-openjdk-headless java-11-openjdk-headless java-17-openjdk-headless java-21-openjdk-headless javascriptcoregtk4.0 javascriptcoregtk4.1 javascriptcoregtk6.0 On the laptop, asking what requires each of the 4 java packages (dnf repoquery --requires java...) lists the same 24 packages for each version. -- Jon H.
