I now run X11 Plasma and > VirtualBox works fine. Yeah, Wayland is not quite ready for prime time. It is still missing features. I do my best to avoid it. (This is one of the most important features (for me). X11 has it, Wayland does not: <https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=415364>).
