Hi! After the latest update the SDDM starts
/usr/bin/startplasma-wayland
and then this is started
/usr/bin/kwin_wayland_wrapper --xwayland
with the effect of having 2.5 load on a 8 core Ryzen7 and having 70 degrees on CPU!!!
That is not normal on Wayland.
There must be an issue with your system.
well, nothing new happened with the system .. modulo "dnf update"
Have you looked for errors in dmesg or the journal that might explain what is going wrong?
i did not :( .. i will and report it here (i'm not at home right now)
also on a laptop with the same fedora 40 this does not happen
moreover i found a workaround :) : doing a
pkill -x kwin_wayland Xwayland
solves the problem :) (it will restart and it it will no longer load the
cpu)
Thanks!
