Is there a list of known-to-be-supported hardware: CPU, graphics ...??
Stupid question, right?
No such thing as a stupid question. What is stupid is not asking because there
will be others with the same question who fail to ask who benefit from the answer.
The Linux Hardware Database <https://linux-hardware.org> collects probes
submitted by users and can be searched by laptop model or for a particular
component. You get "detected" or "works", but the definition of"works" is
vague unless the owner added a comment. You also get a list of drivers that
claim to support a component. You can restrict a search to a distro, but sometimes
the a broader search will find useful comments.
Thanks
