Never used so maybe is my mistake. I solved my issue using some virtual machine, and I understand the problem is randomly present. I installed an old version (that is working on my old fedora) on Fedora 37 and 38, and the problem is there on both versions. There are some messages in the fortinet forum that with a script that intercept the vpn creation and issue a reload before the error. This script was able to maintain the vpn network card present but the routing table was not loaded. Another problem with the script was that my PC is too rapid and vpn disappear before the reload command. I modified the timeout and all was ok but without routes. After that I issued the vpn start rapidly and after 2-3 errors it was ok with routing table loaded. I can't understand why this error is present in all client version, but for the moment it's ok for me. For all who need info this is the link to the fortinet forum https://community.fortinet.com/t5/Support-Forum/FortiClient-cannot-configure-routing-tables-on-Kali-Linux/td-p/251954 There is the error and also the link to the script. I changed the sleep 1 to sleep .1 and it was working better on my PC.
