I can only say I've noticed one bug with VLC: If you have repeat play on and try to play a broken file it'll deadloop with very heavy CPU use, and it's nearly impossible to make it quit. I nearly always use VLC for playing things, but I often use mpv for those double-click on unknown video files to figure out which is which. As a simple one-at-a-time player, it's reasonably good, but I absolutely hate its on-screen progress bar when you whiz through a file. I can't find any way to disable it. It's big, and usually in the way. Why do programmers put on screen displays in such stupid places? -- uname -rsvp Linux 3.10.0-1160.88.1.el7.x86_64 #1 SMP Tue Mar 7 15:41:52 UTC 2023 x86_64 Boilerplate: All unexpected mail to my mailbox is automatically deleted.
