Sometimes - way way too often - I cannot suspend my Fedora.
Whether with power button or GUI or command line, system would not go to

I have an external Dell p2418d always connected but whether that monitor
is connected or not, seems to make no difference when it happens, when
it won't suspend and it does not happen always.
Sometimes, usually not long after a reboot, system does suspend OK.
When Fedora fails to suspend - screens, both or built-in alone if
external is disconnected, go blank, but it's obvious right away that
suspend failed for power-on LED remains full-on, as oppose to dim-in-out
which is the confirmation that system is suspended... so, only
screens/monitors went blank but a few seconds later screens come back on
with the "regular" lock screen.
Have you checked the journal for a reason? It should tell you why
suspend failed.
