Videos is just the name the .desktop file for the application says to call it
so you won't know the actual name :-).

You're right. grepping (case insensitive) /usr/share/applications/mimeinfo.cache for "totem" gets a few dozen hits.
No hits in the gnome-open file.
Oh well. As I mentioned in my previous post, Samuel's suggestion solved the problem.
