The message in question¹ does not contain a text/plain part (aside from the footer added by the list software). The layout of the message (using mutt's representation): 1 <no description> [multipart/alternative, 7bit, 5.3K] 2 └─><no description> [text/html, quoted, utf-8, 5.2K] 3 <no description> [text/plain, base64, utf-8, 0.7K] There is no text/plain part within the multipart/alternative MIME part.
