Most of the C code makes sense if I can track it, but the preprocessor functions, no. I don't do preprocessing, never looked into it.

    This is some kind of universal standards someone has wisely put into this code. But my idea is to gut as much as possible.

It’s generated through autoconf, which uses this file to create config.h:
