Am I correct in assuming that I should not do weekly patches until
the proper updated NVidia 470 drivers reach rpmfusion-nonfree-updates?
Since the next update of the nvidia 470 drivers will probably be to
fix this issue, it should be okay to do so. If you want to avoid
updates until certain, you could use
dnf -x [nvidia driver]
so it doesn't update.
How will I know when the proper updated NVidia 470 drivers reach
rpmfusion-nonfree-updates?
You could go to the website and look at the versions in their
repositories, or subscribe to their mailing list at rpmfusion.org. They
send out emails with pending updates.
See a new 470 driver with dnf update. No 390 for legacy nvidia card as yet.
