But the absolute easiest thing to do is mount the encrypted btrfs, make a backup of the home directory, and then clean install followed by restoring the home directory files from the backup. Otherwise you and at just one other person have to have a fairly intense conversation about very low level esoterics. Boot is very distro specific. There's maybe two or three dozen steps to repair this setup. They all have to be exactly correct or it won't work.
