F35 seems to have turned off my sound

Settings has a small x next to a speaker symbol
apparently indicating I've been muted.
I can move the volume indicator,
but it does not stick.
I have no sound.
After a google search, I tried:
[root@2001-48F8-3004-2CE-0-0-0-25DA-dynamic ~]# alsaunmute
Found hardware: "HDA-Intel" "Analog Devices AD1884" "HDA:11d41884,103c281e,00100100" "0x103c" "0x281e"
Hardware is initialized using a generic method
[root@2001-48F8-3004-2CE-0-0-0-25DA-dynamic ~]# systemctl --user enable --now wireplumber Failed to connect to bus: $DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS and $XDG_RUNTIME_DIR not defined (consider using --machine=<user>@.host --user to connect to bus of other user)
[root@2001-48F8-3004-2CE-0-0-0-25DA-dynamic ~]#

I'm not actually sure whether the problem started with F35.
I'm not all that fond of videos on the computer,
but I'd like to have the sound that goes with.

Everything is plugged in, including power and the pale green plug.
If I click on test, I get a popup telling me to click on a speaker.
Huh?

How do I get sound?
