I've used rEFInd on Apple hardware to dual boot macOS and linux, but not for years.
There have been issues when certain vendors only supported a short list of boot
loader names.

Issues with missing conflicting filesystem drivers are mentioned more than once in the
documentation. Make sure you have drivers for the filesystems you need (the xfs driver
may not be included in the rpm package) and delete any you don't need.
