At some point a few years ago I paid for Whitewater Foundry's Fedora Remix for WSL. It worked reasonably well and I don't recall any particular issues with it but for my purposes, if I'm using WSL, it seems preferable to "go with the flow" and use ubuntu as that seems to be what the WSL crew expect people to be using.
