That's confusing. Anyway, thanks! I installed it. I don't know if there's a strong preference for one or the other which is shared by most folks. I don't like installing code directly from the web into my home directory. I'd much rather do that via an rpm. Others feel differently. :) In the case of the openweather extension, the rpm install works on Gnome 41 because it has a patch to declare support for 41 which has not been picked up and released to the extensions site yet¹.
