Hopefully this will give me some pointers in the right direction (if it doesn't "just work"(tm)). >From reading the script at /usr/bin/nvidia-sleep.sh, it seems that when it happens, I can try to change to a console VT, suspend and awaken the driver, then change back, and hopefully it will revive the display!
