I never use flash drives for any kind of backup purposes. The things have multiple failures (wearing out, electronic breakdown, static electricity, mechanically falling apart, getting scrambled by a PC with poor 5Vdc power supplies on the USB ports, getting reformatted by a computer that couldn't read their file system, and simply getting lost). And they're often too small, or their filesystem can't handle large files. I consider them only good for sneakernet purposes. -- uname -rsvp Linux 3.10.0-1160.49.1.el7.x86_64 #1 SMP Tue Nov 30 15:51:32 UTC 2021 x86_64 Boilerplate: All unexpected mail to my mailbox is automatically deleted.
