I'd like to draw a floor plan of my house. Nothing fancy, but I want to

Any suggestions for something free on Linux for this?
Some things are best done with old-fashioned pencil+paper+eraser. If you want
an electronic version you can scan the drawing, and there are usable linux to
vector conversion tools. It has been a few years, but I have had good results
with this method, using gimp to tweak the scan in inkscape to tweak the vector
version. I think inkscape now has a plugin using potrace, but don't remember
which tracing program I used.
Rather than writing out annotations on the drawing, I sometimes used numbered
"footnotes" saved in a text file so they could be pasted as text in inkscape, or just
saved for use in text searches. For complex examples it helps to add coordinates
to the text file to help find the numbered location in the drawing.
