Hi,
I got the following messages from a sudo dnf upgrade. Are they
indicating that the indicated files need to be updated at the Fedora
end?
/usr/lib/tmpfiles.d/kdm.conf:1: Line references path below legacy
directory /var/run/, updating /var/run/kdm/ → /run/kdm/; please
update the tmpfiles.d/
drop-in file accordingly.
/usr/lib/tmpfiles.d/kdm.conf:2: Line references path below legacy
directory /var/run/, updating /var/run/xdmctl → /run/xdmctl; please
update the tmpfile
s.d/ drop-in file accordingly.
Do you actually use kdm as your display manager? I'm pretty sure it
has been depreciated and going forward sddm will
fully replace it. I've not used kdm in a long time and don't know how
well it is maintained.
You can run "systemctl status display-manager" to verify what DM
you're using.
If it is not kdm, I would "sudo dnf erase kdm".
Thanks Ed, I am using gdm as my display manager. I could delete kdm, but
I keep it around in case I decide to move away from gdm. I have tried
sddm and hated it and I considered kdm to be significantly superior in
the user interface, and in my view unless sddm undergoes significant
interface development it is not worth using, kdm is far superior.

Steve
