It's the bracketed-paste feature from readline-8.1. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/1954366 has some details on it. It's not universally popular, to be sure. Disabling it does have some security implication which are worth keeping in mind for anyone reading along idly. That's why I haven't included the instructions to disable it. Cheers, -- Todd
