That quoted line makes no sense, since it contains multiple errors. Correct would be: --exclude=PACKAGENAME Not: -exclude=PACKAGENAME.rpm And PACKAGENAME may include version, release and arch, but not ".rpm" if you work with repositories. Please show full output of what you're trying to do.
