Why do you say "lpt1"? I have 4 lp[0-3] devices in /dev, but I have no
actual parallel port hardware.
I suspect by force loading the driver with settings like that, it will
assume there's actually a port at that address. It will be writing to
nothing.
It is a CUPS and Printer Admin thing. I find it a bit
annoying myself. They should use Linux terms, not
Windows terms.
