mount -a and see what fails is usually a good idea. A good plan is to add the entry to fstab, umount the what currently mounted for it, and then do a test "mount /directory/location/only" so it will use the fstab data and see if it can mount with what is in fstab. Doing it that way has saved me from emergency mode a number of times.
