the target. "rm" as root will by default ask you if you're sure,
unless you've changed that. So you could just try the "rm" and see
what it says. "rm" without "-r" will also not delete a directory so
you're really safe.
Anyway, the command you want is "rm /media/dd2/share".

/was able to remove the link with your help.
My problem is getting the smb server mounted on this computer. Creating
a working lie in /etc/fstab is the present problem, I can't do much more
without that.
Presently I have been trying: //192.168.50.149/home/share /media/smb
cifs defaults 0 0
As well as variations of that plus some others I found searching with
google. so far I've had no success. /I would appreciate some help from
anyone.///
