Does /sys/firmware/efi/ exist and have files in it?  Then you've
booted via EFI.  If it doesn't?  Then you aren't.

You might also want to make sure there aren't any other EFI or /boot
partitions that might be hanging around that are being used by the
boot that have old data on them.

What/where do you want me to check ?
