Stuff gets carried along without maintenance for a while, even after it stops working.
Many maintainers were busy before COVID-19 messed with their lives.
A bug report (with patches) may be enough to get maintainer's attention. Check
bugzilla for outstanding bugs and compare with those on https://github.com/gohugoio/hugo.
If you can add a comment in bugzilla pointing to upstream patches then it is easier for a
maintainer to get things updated.
