I've been running Steam on Fedora for two years now and it's worked just fine. At first I had a GTX 1060 6GB. Last December I upgraded to an RTX 2080 Super. I use rpmfusion for the proprietary drivers. So far, I've had no problems with either card. The meat of this though is the Steam install and for that, I've used the repo provided here: https://negativo17.org/steam/ I've always had flawless installs and Steam itself has worked great in Fedora. I'm not sure why Valve doesn't support Fedora too, but whatever. Give that negativo17 steam repo a try. I hope the dude providing the repo and packages keeps it up. If he ends up abandoning ship, I'm not sure what I'll do. But, that's a problem for another day.
