hiu bruce,

i am actually a retired engineer. i got parkinsons which rendered me noncompetitive in the modern market.

my *nix career in late 70's took me from basic/c programmer/sysadmin, and a lot of other roles
for companies including hp, M$, SCO, intel, brocade, and so on.

given your list of topics, looks like my time at CarrierIQ might be most inline with your goals.

if my dialog is unhelpful, i could shoot you  some samples of what i am yapping about,...

devops was a favorite role of mine, it covers about 90% of your listed topics.

Hey Jack.

Are you a sysAdmin??  Jr/Sr?? Or just really good with Centos/Fed OS?

I'm working on a project that's going to involve running apps on cloud servers that get spun up/down. The project will also involve cloud servers that run webapps, as well as play the role of test servers. I'd like ot have "processes" that lock down the process from a security point as well as making sure the OS/apps are running correctly with regards to access/permissions/etc.

A sample of what I think is needed:
Manage the Linux/Centos7 System
 -update os/processes
 -firewall
 -dns
 -webserver httpd/apache/nginx
 -cloudflare/ddos
 -setup domain for test sites
 -create/use test/production centos servers
 -handle create user
 -be "admin" role
 -replicate digital ocean server/vm
 -anything else??
-manage/handle figuring out what apps/processes/ports/etc need
to be on the test/prod server..
 -remove what's not required
 -ssh/access issues
 -log processes
 -server/process monitoring
 -selinux issues
 -firewall/iptables
 -directory/process access setup
-access the test/production DO servers/VM by url, as opposed to ipaddress
-dynamic function to update the 'net serverName for the ipadress if it changes

Hit me at my email with your mobile and I'll ping you on what I'm doing/need.

thanks
