Tim, You might try created a systemd service for it instead. E.g. ##### [Unit] Description=Get email [Install] WantedBy=multi-user.target [Service] Type=simple User=%i ExecStart=/usr/bin/fetchmail -d 900 ##### Save the above to `/usr/lib/systemd/system/fetchmail@.service`. You can then use `systemctl <command> fetchmail@tim.service` to manage it for the tim account, and similarly for any other accounts on the system. I use something very close to this to start my SpiderOak backup in headless mode at boot.
