Oh, don't panic. If you enable the "studies" option, per the instructions here:

the next time Mozilla checks with the mothership, you'll get a fix pushed down to you. It can take up to half a day before your Firefox pings the mothership, and pulls down this fix. In my case it was about 4 hours after I enabled it.
There's also a config setting that can be flipped to turn off all signature verifications. It's risky because you can easily forget to turn that off. I initially went that wrong, but changed my mind. I don't trust myself to remember it, so I enabled that Firefox's built-in spyware option. If I forget to turn it off, once a permanent Firefox update comes out, that's not the worst thing in the world.
As far as I can tell, on Android the only option on Firefox is to turn this off in about:config.
