Now this is interesting. After a reboot, acceleration is off:
$ xinput --list --short | grep -i logit

0.000000
All day yesterday with it on, I had no issues scrolling

More interesting. Xfce's mouse dialog show acceleration is on:

Just wondering whether this dialogue is a direct query of the mouse
state or some kind of proxy via Xfce's settings i.e. if you change the
seting outside Xfce does the dialogue notice? (Either immediately or on
dialogue close/reopen?)
